JERRY BOUTHIER (KITSUNE BOOMBOX, PONYSTEP, JBAG)

JERRY BOUTHIER was born in Paris, but lives in London. He released KITSUNE BOOMBOX in 2007, showcasing his special blend of pop, electro, disco, whatever. He is music director for VIVIENNE WESTWOOD and travels to fashion week in Paris & Milan djing for Gareth Pugh, Givenchy, Colette and all the “it” parties. He also produces remixes under the name JBAG, remixing KYLIE MINOGUE, LADYHAWKE, BUNNY LAKE, and more. JERRY BOUTHIER released the new KITSUNE PONYSTEP in Summer, 2010, and is back in Japan at this special party to show off his new sound.

“ Pitchoun has been injecting French love into Japanese Clubs for more than 3 years now. This new Autoroutes de la Nuit (Highway of the Night) respects the rules of this mixtape series – i.e., putting together some electronica-post-rock-experimental shit you can listen to at 4am on your balcony while you’re watching the city die. But its mainly, this time, a reflection of the permanent French-Japanese duality which emanates from the Pitchoun parties and from the website Les Chroniques Automatiques, so the tracklisting focuses exclusively on tracks coming from Japan or France :

You’ll find some dirty experimental missives (Melt Banana, Raoul Sinier…), highly emotional frescoes (World’s End Girlfriend, Mondkopf…), essays into strange noisy-jpop (Hypo, 椎名林檎 …), unknown Japanese blunts (Lo:Bloc, Bija, シトラス … ) or some French classics that go right to your spine (Melodium, Abstrackt Keal Agram, Diabologum). Not to mention the most beautiful japanese hiphop track (by Tha Blue Herb) and some Field recordings taken directly inside the Japanese megalopolis. Sorry for the awkward transitions between tracks, I’m no DJ. This mixtape is just a reflection of the music we like – the dirty ones, the beautiful, the violent, melancholic or crazy.

This Volume 4 of the Autoroutes de la Nuit is not just about your car cruising at night. Its a fatal accident, driving right inside of a wall, and a slow death inside a dark street in Kabukicho. Listening to music while you’re moaning with your guts in your hands, well, you’ll see – it can be cool.

Pitchounは、３年間にフランス愛情を日本のクラブに注射してる。この新たな「Autoroutes de la Nuit」（夜のハイウェイ）は、前回同様、ポストーロックとエレクトロと実験的な音楽を集めミックステープシリーズ。朝四時に都市が死ぬのをバルコニーから眺めながら聞ける音楽。
今回は、永遠的なフランスと日本の文化が絡み合う「Pitchoun」のパーティーと「Chroniques Automatiques」のウェッブサイト、そしてトラックリストは、日本又はフランスの曲しかフォーカスしてません。

すごく実験的な曲（Melt Banana, Raoul Sinier…),　感情的な曲（World’s End Girlfriend, Mondkopf…),　狂気的なJ−Popの試行（Hypo, 椎名林檎 …)、誰も知らない日本の曲（Lo:Bloc, Bija, シトラス…)、又はフランスのクラシック、衝撃的な曲（Melodium,Abstrackt Keal Agram, Diabologum).　その上、日本の一番美しいヒップホップトラック（Tha Blue Herb)と、巨大な東京の中で獲り集めた音達。

４作目の「Autoroutes de la Nuit」は、あなたに快適な夜のドライブはさせません！、事故ってください！壁に突っ込んでゆっくりと、歌舞伎町の闇と共に、呻き、内臓を押さえながら死んで逝くあなたも「Autoroutes de la Nuit」を聞きながら　最高の最後を御迎えください。

L’association Pitchoun injecte depuis de plus de 3 ans de l’amour à la française dans les Club Tokyoite et distille sur le Web ses fameuses cassettes (avalisé par les inrocks) et ses Autoroutes. Cette nouvelle Autoroute de la Nuit respecte la charte du mix electronica-post-rock-experimental des précédents volumes, à écouter sur son balcon, en regardant la ville mourir à 4 heures du matin. Mais c’est aussi et surtout le reflet d’une dualité permanente franco-japonaise qui perle dans les soirées nippones organisées par Pitchoun, et l’amour que porte les Chroniques Autmatiques à la musique de ces deux pays. Au tracklisting, on ne télescopera strictement que des morceaux issus de l’hexagone ou des rues nippones. On y croisera des missives cradingues expérimentales (Melt Banana, Raoul Sinier…), des fresques belles comme la mort (World’s End Girlfriend, Mondkopf…), en passant par quelques bizarreries jpop-noisy (Hypo, 椎名林檎 …) ou de petits nipponeries jamais vraiment entendus (Lo:Bloc, Bija, シトラス … ), voir quelques classiques français visant directement l’échine (Abstrackt Keal Agram, Diabologum, Mélodium…). Sans oublier le plus beau morceau du Hiphop japonais (Tha Blue Herb) et du field recording pris dans la mégalopole japonaise. Les transitions sont bancales, certes, je ne suis pas dj. Cette autoroute de la nuit tente donc simplement de compiler la musique que j’aime, la crade, la belle, la déstructurée, la mélancolique, la douce, la violente.
Ce volume 4 des Autoroutes n’est pas qu’une simple histoire de conduite la nuit, l’âme ravagée par le sommeil. C’est surtout un accident de voiture, un mur pris de plein fouet, et une lente agonie dans une ruelle du Kabukicho. Ecouter de la musique en gémissant avec les trippes dans les mains, vous allez voir, cela peut être intéressant. ”
